Sigma’s Definition of Dadcore™

Good players coming prepared for raid nights. We expect people to understand their class and role in the raid. Raiding is supposed to be fun, and everyone should be putting forth equal amounts of effort, as much as we can. We will never be a world-first/server first, nor will we be aiming for speed runs, but we want to clear content in a reasonable time and have fun doing it.

Dadcore recognizes that real life may make a player unavailable from time to time. As such, we will alternate key roles in encounters to ensure a diversity of encounter specific knowledge. While this may make an encounter difficult again, it allows Dadcore to function to its core value.

Official Raid Nights: Tuesday and Thursday

7:00 PM Invites go out, and Backups park in front of the instance

7:20 PM Main’s online, zoned in, and backups invited to fill in the Raid

7:25 PM Zone in and prep/buffs

7:30 PM Ready check and pull (Earn On-time bonus EP)

10:30 PM End of Raid, or when RL calls it (Earn End of Raid EP)

However, we don’t expect 100% attendance to keep in mind that we will manage Raiders’ roster to ensure a full 40 man raid on Raid Nights (Tues/Thur), and we will recruit more if needed. Please understand that this will pose difficult questions when we need to pare down or request more people to be on backup if we have spotty attendance. Those who disappear without notice or communication for about 3-4 weeks will be demoted back to Member and would be up for immediate re-evaluation after they come back.

Off-Night Raids are 100% optional.

Preparation and Performance:

As a part of Dadcore, we require that you have a basic understanding of your class for every fight. With mages, this comes with an expectation that MCs will be slept, decurses will go out, and that you will run to the tunnel during Mage Call, etc.

We use Warcraft Logs as a tool to evaluate performance. We rely on many factors that focus on skill, and not necessarily just DPS, HPS, Parses, etc. A player can’t just be boiled down to those stats alone. We care about the utility you bring to each fight, such as dispelling or CC’ing when called for, as well as your positioning and ability to follow given instructions.

We expect everyone to know not to pop CCs -- they’re there for a reason -- and to manage your aggro. If it’s something we reiterate every week, please remember it for future encounters.

  • Rotation - spell/skill usage
  • Threat generation - who pulled
  • Decurses/Dispels/Cleanses
  • CC tracking - if any get broken and why
  • Consumables - the list is below.
  • Positioning / Needless deaths
  • Timely buffing of the raid

If you have questions about your role and the requirements, reach out to your class lead for guidance.

Progression Raids: (Currently AQ) -> Naxx

- Try your best to get one of the world buffs that happen frequently: Ony/Nef Head, Heart of Hakkar

- Flasks: Optional, but it would be helpful.

- Top-tier Consumables for every attempt (Required): Mongoose, Mageblood, Troll’s Blood, Greater Arcane Elixir, Foods, etc. We will call out when we have learning attempts and real attempts to save on pots. Preparation is required.

- Top-tier Enchants (Required): By this time, we should have gear worthy of top tier enchants, ZG shoulder enchants

Proficient Raids: AQ40

- Try your best to get one of the world buffs that happen frequently: Ony/Nef Head, Heart of Hakkar

- Flasks: Optional

- Mid-tier consumables (Recommended): Elixir of Greater Agility, Elixir of Sup. Def, Giants, Arcane Elixir, Foods, etc. Zanza pot is an easy boost for 1 Bijou.

- Mid-tier Enchants (Required): some of us may have dungeon blues that could use enchants; these are generally less expensive ZG shoulder enchants

Farm Raids: BWL, MC, ZG/AQ20, Ony

- World Buffs, Flasks, Consumables, Foods: Optional

Wow, this sounds great! Where do I sign up?

If you’re new to Sigma, we’d love for you to join as a member and sign up directly on Discord for our soft reserve raids. We run BWL on Wednesdays and MC on Fridays for now. The signups and times are found in the Discord at the top under “Guests.” You can also sign up for BWL Thursdays with the main raid and start accruing EPGP, our loot system, but raid slots will be prioritized for our Raiders.

If you are interested in seeking a full Raider slot, talk to a Team Lead or Officer about entering The Trials.

The Trials

We are always looking for exceptional players, whether or not we currently have an available position. We hold all our Raiders to a higher standard than our Members, not just in terms of consumables and availability but also in their conduct.

Our team leads will look at your gear: is it of a similar level to what we’re currently facing? (For AQ40, we’re looking for mostly BWL gear, fully enchanted. For BWL, AQ20/ZG, mid-tier enchants.)

You will be asked to attend a minimum of three full raid lockouts with our main group (Tuesday and Thursdays at 7:30 PM ST), where our officer team will look over your performance. We understand the first week might be rocky due to learning our strats or maybe even just a bad week, so a few weeks should help smooth out those bumps and give us a good basis to judge. During this time, you will be earning EPGP and able to bid on loot, with the caveat that the first MS win must be for an uncontested item.

After the three weeks, we will go over your compatibility with Sigma and provide feedback. Ideally, at this time, we will be able to congratulate you on your new Raider rank and responsibilities, but every player is unique. As a result, sometimes, this process may take longer.

We look forward to having you on our team!
